Custom Wigs- what are they?

Many of the enquires we receive often involve asking for a custom wig without understanding what it is. This post aim is to help people understand what a custom wig is and the pros and cons.

Custom wigs are wigs made to fit an individual personally. When purchasing one of our custom wigs, we will always ask for custom head measurements. This is because, when we construct the wig, it will fit the customers head perfectly according to the measurements. Custom wigs are NOT ready made wigs. As these are wigs made based on the customers head measurements they are made to order and processing times are longer than that of ready made wigs. Ready made wigs are wigs that are prepared before purchase and can be shipped sometimes immediately!

We offer custom wigs as these are often the best option. Think about when you buy a wig (i.e., aliexpress) and you're so excited that you try it on. Some people experience the wig to be too small, too big or not wide enough or too wide. It becomes upsetting and you have to ruin the wig construction to make it work for you. Some people cut between the tracks to make the wig stretch more so it can be bigger. Some people have to turn a beautiful frontal into a closure because it's too tight to reach their sideburns. Custom wigs avoid all of this hassle and that's why we offer this service!

Nothing is ever 100% perfect so obviously there are cons to custom wigs!

1. You can never order just order a wig. Different business have different processing times but generally, with custom wigs, they are never ready to ship! LBMwigs processing time for custom wigs are 2-4 weeks with most clients receiving the hair by the third week. 

2. Head measurements are tricky especially if you're a beginner! Head measurements are so important to making sure the custom wig is actually custom to you! We have a simple, easy-to-follow head measurement guide.
